The grand final tour begins

Alejandro Valverde returns to competition this week after a few weeks off after finishing the Route d’Occitanie in mid-June. A program with good and varied races that will lead the Murcian to the start of his last Vuelta a España in just under a month. As a starting point, the Movistar Team cyclist will face the San Sebastian Classic this Saturday, the only one-day race on the Spanish calendar included in the World Tour.

Valverde will return to the highest level in an event that he has won twice and in which he has accumulated up to six podiums. As always, an exceptional race with part of the protagonists of the Tour de France that will meet with those who have prepared the final stretch of the year in a specific way. The Klasika will be decided again in its beautiful final chain with the climbs to Jaizkibel, Erlaitz and Murgil Tontorra close to the end.

The Movistar Team will line up a powerful national block led by Alejandro himself and the local Alex Aranburu. Gorka Izagirre, Antonio Pedrero, José Joaquin Rojas, Jorge Arcas and Carlos Verona will also take part. The race can be followed live through Eurosport, GCN and ETB.
