Road cycling will become one of the first sports to distribute medals this Saturday at the Olympic Games, which officially start on Friday with its traditional opening ceremony. These are the fifth Games for Alejandro Valverde, who has not missed an appointment of this type since Athens 2004. The organizing committee of Tokyo 2020 has prepared a highly selective route, on a profile of 234 kilometers and the passes through Mount Fuji, Mikuni Pass and Kagosaka Pass as the most important points. Valverde is part of a powerful Spanish team together with Ion Izagirre, Gorka Izagirre, Omar Fraile and Jesús Herrada.
