From its pre-season training camp in Almería, Movistar Team presented its 2021 project this Thursday. The main leaders of the World Tour squad revealed their objectives for the new season in a telematic event, adapting to the current health situation.

Alejandro Valverde, the oldest cyclist in the World Tour peloton, shared the stage with Marc Soler, Enric Mas, Iván García Cortina and Annemiek Van Vleuten, current European champion and the great signing of the women’s team to opt for the victory in the main competitions. From Madrid, where he is quarantined after his positive for coronavirus, the Colombian Miguel Ángel López completed the act.

The season for Valverde will revolve around three major challenges: the Ardennes Classics, the Tokyo Olympic Games road event and the Vuelta a España.

During the presentation, José María Álvarez Pallete, CEO of Telefónica, also unveiled the launch of the second season of “El Día Menos Pensado”, a multi-episode documentary released in 2020 with the most intimate and personal face of the day-to-day life of the cyclist group.
