The cyclist winter finishes in Mallorca

Although from the physical point of view the season will last until March 20, the cycling winter in Spain ends this Thursday, January 30, with the Ses Salines – Felanitx Trophy, first of the four trophies of the Challenge de Mallorca. As almost every season, Alejandro Valverde will start competing in this race, the beginning of a year with many important challenges.

Four days that begin and end with the two simplest tests, on paper reserved for the large group of sprinters displaced to the island. In the meantime, the well-known but modified Serra de Tramuntana Trophy and the new final at the Port d’Andratx of the Pollença Trophy offer double opportunities for cyclists who better defend over broken terrain.

Movistar Team has displaced Mallorca to a powerful block led by Alejandro Valverde, Enric Mas and Marc Soler, the three cyclists who lead the World Tour team options in the most important events of the season. With them, Albert Torres, Lluis Mas, Antonio Pedrero, the Italians Davide Villella and Dario Cataldo, Imanol Erviti, Héctor Carretero and José Joaquín Rojas are also preparing this test at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Manacor. Seven of this group will take part in each of the trophies. The alignment will be decided on the previous day.
