Saitama Criterium

This was a fantastic weekend for the world champion in the traditional Saitama Criterium, an event that is held every year at the end of the season with the organization and support of ASO. Alejandro Valverde participated in different activities in the Japan before competing in the cycling event last Sunday. Thus, the Movistar Team rider visited a hospital in the city of Saitama, took part in a toy bike race and attended to a curious baseball exhibition with the main guests at this great pedal party.

As for the cyclist appointment, Valverde won ahead of the winner of the last Tour de France, the Welshman Geraint Thomas, and the local Yukiya Arashiro. Vincenzo Nibali finished fourth. In addition, Rubén Fernández, Imanol Erviti and Jorge Arcas also participated in this race.
