First victory of Movistar Team

Good performance of Alejandro Valverde in the first two stages of the Pyrenees of the Tour de France, contributing to Movistar Team adding his first victory in the race with the Colombian Nairo Quintana. The Murcian cyclist was again in a long break in the 17th stage of the race, as he already did in two stages of the Alps, working with his partner Marc Soler to set the front group on an explosive day, with only 65 km and the ascents to Peyragudes, Val Louron and the harsh Col du Portet.

Quintana attacked at the first ramps of the final port, unprecedented in the Tour de France, and with just over 9 km to the end he reached Alejandro Valverde, who helped to bring the Colombian to the Estonian Tanel Kangert, head of the race at that time . Quintana left alone 6.5 km from the finish, achieving an important victory for Movistar Team in this Tour de France. Valverde, on the other hand, did not give up to collaborate in the team classification. Movistar Team has recovered the first position. With two important days ahead, the last stage of the Pyrenees next Friday and the individual time trial of Saturday, Alejandro is eleventh in the general classification.
