A great Dauphiné
The final three days of the Critérium du Dauphiné have shown the most courageous and aggressive version of Alejandro Valverde. The Movistar Team rider has attacked several times in the three mountain stages of this spectacular French race. It has been only resolved on the final climb of the final day with the triumph of the Danish Jakob Fuglsang (Astana).
Valverde has profited the climbs to try to put in difficulties his rivals, who have shown a better physical form in the return of the Spanish rider to the roads after more than a month without competing. Alejandro has looked for the victory this Sunday from afar, in the company of the Italian Fabio Aru (Astana). Both have jumped on the hard climb to La Colombière, penultimate port of a stage that ended in Plateau de Solaison.
Finally, Valverde finished tenth in the stage and ninth in the GC. Good numbers but better feelings before the important goals that are to come.
