2017 Presentation

Although the official season started last week in the Tour Down Under, Movistar Team has presented today in Madrid its project for the new campaign 2017. The team, that is leaded again by Alejandro Valverde and the Colombian Nairo Quintana, has defined its objectives along with representatives of its main sponsors.

The roster is made up of 28 riders from nine different countries. Movistar Team is starting the European calendar next thursday with the first trophy of the Challenge of Mallorca. With Valverde and Nairo Quintana, the technical staff of the team has called Andrey Amador, Jorge Arcas, Jonathan Castroviejo, Alex Dowsett, Dani Moreno, Antonio Pedrero, Dayer Quintana, Rory Sutherland and the debutants Nuno Bico and Héctor Carretero.

Alejandro Valverde: “I have been a professional for 15 years and I continue enjoying it. It’s not my job, it’s my passion. I could not choose any season in particular. I still have outstanding challenges in this new year. My main targets are especially at the Ardennes, the Tour de France with Nairo and the Tour of Spain”.
