Fourth Olympic Games

Alejandro Valverde has arrived in thirtieth place in the road race of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, the first major competition of the Brazilian appointment. Despite he had not the best feelings in the final lap, Valverde was important again in the most decisive part of the race, chasing hard to maintain distance with the leading group.

Alejandro spent his last energies supporting Joaquim Rodriguez, who announced at the end of the race that this would be his last race as a professional. Purito reached the leading group and get a fifth position, achieving an important olympic diploma.
