Bronze medal in the time trial

Almost a month after finishing on the final podium of the Giro d’Italia, Alejandro Valverde has returned achieving a third position in the ITT of the Spanish National Championships, raced on Thursday 23 in Ibi (Alicante). Valverde set a time of 51:17, less than half a minute of his teammate Jon Izagirre and just 3 seconds behind Jonathan Castroviejo. In this way, Movistar Team has repeated the treble achieved last year in Cáceres in the same competition.

After this bronze, Valverde will stay focused with the rest of Team Movistar in a village near Cocentaina (Alicante), will be ready to compete on Saturday in a road race where he will defend the title won last year in Extremadura.
