Top Ten in the Strade Bianche

Alejandro Valverde returned to fight against the best in his return to the Strade Bianche, race that this Saturday met its tenth edition. The Movistar Team rider completed the race precisely in tenth place, 50 seconds behind the winner in the Piazza del Campo in Siena, Swiss Fabian Cancellara.

Valverde’s race was marked by several mechanical mishaps that forced him to change his bike with Fran Ventoso many kilometers from the finish. Later in the toughest sections of sterrato, Alejandro was not found with legs and could not follow the wheel of Zdenek Stybar, Peter Sagan and Gianluca Brambilla.

Alejandro count on this Strade Bianche with the support of his fellow Team Movistar, who for many kilometers controlled dangerous movements of the day. His next target will begin next Wednesday with the first stage of the Tirreno-Adriatico, WT premiere.
