The fifth in Richmond
The fifth in Richmond
Alejandro one more time ahead in the World Championship
Alejandro took the fifth place of the Road World Championship that took place today in Richmond, Virginia (USA). Slovakian rider Peter Sagan crossed the finish line 3 minutes ahead of the bunch and is the new world champion.
The Spaniard took the fourth place of the bunch sprint.
Nine times among the top ten, Alejandro declared that “I consider this is a good result because I said from the very beginning that the course did not suit me. In fact it was more difficult than expected and it was an elimination race. Nevertheless a lot of very fast riders were still there if the final and I believe that a fifth place is a very good result. The riders ahead of me were just faster than I am, so I am satisfied with the result even if I maybe started my sprint too late. But I was there in front, one more year.”
