Each day closer to overall top ten
Alejandro took the third place of the eight stage of the Tour, which finished at the top of the famous Mûr-de-Bretagne after departing from Rennes and a 181 km course.
The Spaniard won the sprint of the first part of the bunch behind winner Frenchman Alexis Vuillermoz and Irishman Dan Martin who attacked in the final climb.
“The truth is that the winner deserved his win even if I have legs to win today”, stated Alejandro just after he crossed the finishing line. “Sometimes you win and sometimes not… the first two riders deserve to be there because they attacked and I should have follow them and be there to fight for victory.”
Tomorrow a 28 km important team time trial will take place between Vannes and Plumelec. “The team is alright for tomorrow as everybody is feeling pretty well”, told the Spanish road champion. “The Tour already started for sure but ours will really start on Tuesday”.
