Frenchman Blel Khadri won the stage in solitary while Alejandro took seven, 2’36” behind the AG2R rider and 16” behind yellow jersey Vicenzo Nibali.

The Spaniard entered the overall top 5, 2’27” behind Nibali.

Tomorrow, stage 9, Gérardmer-Mulhouse, 170 km.

Alejandro’ s quotes:

“It is not an ideal result but it is also not so bad because the stage was tough and dangerous. For sure I don’t like very much that weather but I am satisfied. For sure I lost 18 seconds but it is not a lot. I hope the sun will come back and that I will be in front.”
