Bad luck is going on in the Tour de France for Alejandro who was the victim of the crash which caused Samuel Sánchez ‘withdrawal.
After he made part of a breakaway at the beginning of the stage, Alejandro could not avoid the crash that occurred at km 58.
He suffered a hard blow in his right tibia and a wound that had to be closed with a stich by the Tour doctors at Movistar Team bus just after the stage, as well as several other injuries on the right side of his body.
In that bad state, the Spaniard struggled to keep the pace of the main favourites in the Col de la Croix – he lost 2’21” at the finish.
