Last Saturday July 10, the organizers of the 2nd Bike Ride Catlike Sierra de Alcaraz & Segura which took place in Riópar (Albacete) invited Alejandro Valverde to attend their event.

The participants took the start at 8:00 AM from the Gardens street situated in the city of Riópar (in the Spanish region of La Mancha), where the spring of river Mundo is, before a 160 km ride.

“It was really a pleasure to answer the organizers’ invitation”, explained Alejandro.

“Many cyclists were present and among them many friends of mine. I could not compete of course but I accompany them and trained a little bit. It was cold in the morning because we started very early but after that it was really hot and the temperature reached 36 degrees”, explained Alejandro who is following the Tour de France with a lot of interest.

“I watch it every day on TV and I hope that very soon I will be back in that race. It is very interesting and I think that many things can happen in the next stages. The fight will be a very nice one for sure.”

“Tonight I will look at the football match at home with my family. I hope of course that Spain will won and I will be happy if the final score is 1-0 for my country”,  told also the Spanish rider.

The 1st Solidarity Ride against Leukemia in which about 70 cyclists took part was organized in Jerez.

The event was a very friendly one where everybody pedaled for a good cause between Jerez and Cadiz in a spirit of solidarity. Their family and friends were waiting for the cyclists at the end of that special ride.

Little Raul and his family, for whom the race was originally organized were also waiting for the courageous cyclists.

Raul was very happy when he received a golden jersey of the Tour of Spain Alejandro Valverde dedicated specially to him.  

Let’s hope this solidarity ride will be organized also next year.

This Saturday June 26 Alejandro Valverde was present in Granada (Andalucía) where he attended in quality of guest of honor the bike ride called ‘XVIIth  Subida al Veleta’ ‘17th climb to the Veleta’).

After he spent a nice day together with his friends, the Spanish rider was invited to the podium to give the prizes to the winners of the event.

“I am always very happy when I come in Granada where I have many friends”, explained Alejandro at the end of the day. “I use to come now and then is Sierra Nevada for training sessions and to be invited to share such a great event with all the cycling fans is an honor and a pleasure for me”.

This Tuesday evening June 22 Alejandro Valverde attended the opening of the Sports Hall Verdolay in Murcia (La Alberca / Santo Angel). 

This very modern and innovative sports hall is build upon 4200 m² and is made of 4 floors. It can receive till 3.800 users every day.

Center promoter Mario Laborda, Murcia Mayor Miguel Ángel Cámara and Miguel Cascales, in charge for sport in Murcia, also took part in the event.
