The twelfth

Alejandro Valverde returns to the competition this Saturday in Málaga, the starting city of the Tour of Spain, the last three weeks of the season and one of the important challenges for Movistar Team every year. The Murcian cyclist has rested after a hard and intense Tour de France, where he worked in favor of his teammates in the main mountain stages in the Alps and the Pyrenees.

Bala faces with enthusiasm a part of the 2018 campaign when he sees the Innsbruck World Championship and La Vuelta as the great goals.

The Vuelta has always been a special race for him. Winner of the general in 2009, final podium on four other times and winner of nine stages, his record in the Spanish grand round is one of the most complete of all participants in the 73rd edition of the event. The race that will count as usual with a spectacular route, with special mention to the finals in Les Praeres, Balcón de Bizkaia or La Gallina, and two days that will tread Valverde territory: the sixth with final in San Javier and the seventh with departure in Puerto Lumbreras.
