Dwars Door Vlaanderen

A territory almost unexplored by Alejandro Valverde. The Movistar Team cyclist disputes this Wednesday a new edition of the Dwars Door Vlaanderen, a 180-kilometer Flemish semiclassic between Roeselare and Waregem that has twelve hills and five cobbled sections.

This is a different race to those disputed this season, but Valverde already knows it because of his experience in 2014 (36th in the first bunch). Dwars Door Vlaanderen will be the last test for the great specialists of cobbles before competing in the Tour of Flanders on Sunday. Valverde and Nairo Quintana will have to face the cobblestones in the ninth stage of the Tour de France, with arrival to Roubaix.

Along with Valverde and Quintana, Movistar Team will compete in Belgium with Nelson Oliveira, Héctor Carretero, Jasha Sutterlin, Carlos Barbero and Jorge Arcas.
